Secure Mac privacy policy
Secure Mac has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. The only data that leaves your Mac is the redacted output of a scan you start, sent to Anthropic so Claude can write your report.
Bridge Softwares does not receive, store or see any of your data. Secure Mac talks to one server only: Anthropic's API, using the API key you provide.
What Secure Mac reads
When you start a scan, the app runs built-in, read-only checks on your Mac. Depending on what Claude asks for, these read:
- macOS version, Mac model, uptime and firewall status
- The names, locations and code-signing details of installed and running apps and processes
- Network settings: DNS servers, proxies, network interfaces and VPN tunnels, and custom entries in /etc/hosts
- Whether known remote-access tools are installed or running, and whether Screen Sharing, Remote Management or SSH sessions are active
- Launch agents and daemons, only in folders you explicitly grant through a macOS open panel
Secure Mac does not read your documents, photos, messages, browsing history, passwords or contacts, and it never changes, deletes or installs anything.
What is sent, and to whom
The results of those checks are sent over an encrypted connection to Anthropic's API (api.anthropic.com) so that Claude can analyse them and write your report. Before anything is sent, your macOS account name and home folder path are replaced with placeholders.
Requests are made with your own Anthropic API key and are governed by your agreement with Anthropic and Anthropic's privacy policy (anthropic.com/legal/privacy). Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default.
What is stored on your Mac
- Your Anthropic API key, in the macOS Keychain, readable only by Secure Mac on this device
- Your scan history (reports), in the app's sandboxed container
- Bookmarks for the folders you granted, so you don't have to grant them again
You can delete any report from the History list. Deleting the app removes its container and stored data, and you can remove the key in Settings at any time.
What we never collect
Secure Mac contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs, creates no accounts and does not track you across apps or websites. We do not sell or share any data, because we never receive any.
Children
Secure Mac is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
